United Hive
Ongoing
United Hive was one of those projects that pulled me in because of the mission. It wasn’t just about building a product — it was about helping people share real moments of faith, encouragement, and boldness.
When I first joined the team, the app already existed, but it was clunky and hard to use. I saw so much potential in what it could be — a global feed of stories that actually felt alive and inspiring.
So I jumped in.
Over the course of the first redesign, we overhauled everything: the UX, visual consistency, and added features. Now moving to the third iteration we have listened to users and are revamping post creation to make it faster and more fun.
What makes Hive special for me is knowing the impact — these aren’t just posts, they’re stories of people's lives. Designing for that is a privilege.
There’s more we’re still working on, but seeing the new version in people’s hands has been wild.
Chip
Ongoing
Chip started with a couple questions: Why is it so easy to snooze an alarm and stay in bed? How can I solve that for myself and maybe some other folks?
I more of a "night owl" than "morning person" so I'll find almost any excuse to catch some extra z's. However, when I do successfully get out of my cozy bed I love the productivity boost I feel in the mornings. It's more than just getting up, but staying up, starting the day strong, and building momentum. I wanted an alarm app that actually works — even if that means being a little extreme.
After researching sleep science and testing different alarms I started designing Chip: an alarm app that you can’t snooze, that can stand alone as an alarm app but can be enhanced with a physical device to scan make waking up more intentional, and that leans into a playful but kind of intense personality. Think Liquid Death meets your morning routine.
The more I worked on it, the more fun it became — adding strict settings, habit tracking, interesting graphics, haptics, and smart wake tech. What started as a personal fix turned into something bigger: a whole wake-up system for people like me who need more than just a nice ringtone.
With this project I have found a new addiction: coding in Swift and becoming symbiotic with Chat GPT. I can’t wait to bring Chip to life — both the app and the device — and see how far this irreverent little idea can go.
Tapestry
6 weeks
When I was first approached with Tapestry, I couldn’t help but be excited to design an education focused app and see how much easier it could be to understand the Bible if it were designed in in small, bite-sized pieces, with clear goals, and a lot of fun.
I grew up around Scripture, but even for me, the Bible felt hard to approach. I was stoked to help build something that made it easier — not just to read it, but to actually learn it.
With a system of levels from the Bible Brief podcast's methodology, gamified lessons, and colorful UI, Tapestry started to look real — a Bible learning experience designed to meet people, of all ages, where they’re at, and help them grow deeper with every level.
What really excited me was imagining someone unlocking a new layer of understanding, not because they forced themselves to read more, but because they wanted to keep going.
Building this was a blast and I learned a lot. Think streaks, memory games, maps, and maybe even co-op learning modes. Theological concepts can be fun and digestible.
